The 10th commandment, "you shall not covet" is the first one that focusses on what happens within our heart. God's law involves not just our actions but our thoughts and motives.

We need to guard our hearts against covetousness and idolatry.  Since all our actions flow from our hearts, we must tend to our hearts in order to lead a life pleasing to God.

We can avoid covetousness by guarding and watching our our hearts. If we find we are not in a good place, then we can use the power of the Holy Spirit, by being ready always to share the gospel with others and also by opening our hearts to others by loving one another.

‘If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret... Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. ’ 1 Corinthians 14:27-29
